Remember which light bulb goes where
A bulb is more than a shape and a fitting. Colour temperature, wattage, brightness and whether it can be dimmed all matter. Get one of them wrong and the light in the room is a different light.

The problem of one mismatched bulb
One bulb in a row of five goes. You buy a new one, screw it in — and it seems to fit, but it shines a little cooler or a little brighter than the rest.
It works fine, replacing it feels wasteful, and the room looks slightly off from then on.
To avoid that, it is enough to save the fitting, the colour temperature and the brightness for each room once.
What is worth saving
- The fitting — E27, E14, GU10, G9 and the rest
- The colour temperature — so a new bulb is the same shade
- The brightness in lumens — so it is not noticeably brighter or dimmer than the others
- Whether the brightness can be dimmed — if the room has that kind of switch
- The beam angle — especially for spotlights

It is easier to store the light specification by room than every bulb separately. Kitchen, bedroom, hallway, for example.
When one bulb goes, you simply open that room in Specsy and buy the same thing again on the values that matter.
Questions people ask
Can I photograph the old bulb instead?
Yes, and it helps, but the printing on a used bulb is often burned off. The card is the reliable copy.
Does Specsy handle smart bulbs?
The same way, and add which system and hub the bulb is paired with, so a replacement works in the same one. Specsy only keeps the note — it does not connect to your smart home or control the bulbs.
Is wattage still worth recording?
Record lumens first and watts second. Watts only tell you consumption on LED bulbs, brightness is lumens.
