A group chat is a bad shopping list
It normally gets sorted out in a chat: who is bringing what, what has been bought, what could not be found. The current list ends up scattered across dozens of messages, and several people can end up promising the same thing.
The problem is not that people are disorganised. It is that a chat never shows the state of the list as a whole.

Questions people ask
Does the other person need the app?
Yes. The invite link opens the list inside Specsy, so it has to be installed. If it is not, the link points to the App Store and works again as soon as they open it a second time.
Does the invite expire?
Yes, invites are time limited, and you can stop sharing at any point. After that the link no longer opens anything.
Can I reuse the list next year?
Yes, save it as a template. Templates are kept for as long as you like, unlike the archive, which lasts a month. Templates are part of Pro.
