Know which water filter cartridge you need, and when it is due
With a water filter two things matter: which cartridge fits, and when it was last changed. The filter can look perfectly fine even once the next change is already due.

Nothing reminds you that the filter is due
With an air filter you can at least see the dirt. A water cartridge is harder: it barely changes on the outside, so the replacement date is easy to forget.
And a jug, an under sink system, a fridge and a whole house filter each have their own cartridges, models and intervals. Six months on, the exact designation is not easy to recall.
The fix is simple: save the model and the date of the last change once, and Specsy reminds you from then on.
What to keep on a filter card
- The system name and the exact cartridge model — so it is obvious what to buy
- The date of the last change — the next one is counted from it
- The replacement interval — by time or by capacity, where the manufacturer gives one
- A photo of the label or the old cartridge — while the markings are still in front of you
- Where it was bought and what it cost — to find the same one again quickly
- The set of cartridges — where a system uses several different elements at once

A reminder that arrives with the model
A note saying "change the filter" does not help much. When the reminder comes from a Specsy card, everything needed is right there: the system model, the cartridge number, the photo and the date of the last change.
So the reminder answers not only "when?" but straight away "what exactly do I buy?".
Questions people ask
Can I track more than one filter in the house?
Yes, and most people have three. Kitchen, fridge and a jug are all separate cards with separate dates.
What if my system needs several cartridges at once?
List all of them on one card. When the reminder fires you order the whole set, which is how they are usually sold.
Does Specsy know the intervals for my model?
