A clothing size is not one number
Nobody has one "size". One size at Zara, another at Uniqlo, and a shirt also needs a collar measurement you think about twice a year.
Walk into a different shop and none of it is in your head.
So you guess, buy a size up, or spend time arranging a return later.
The information is there — it is on the labels of the clothes that already fit. It just is not with you at the moment you need it.
What is worth saving on the card
You do not need a card for every garment. Make a card per category — tops, trousers, outerwear — and keep in it everything that helps you pick the right size.

- Find the clothes that genuinely fit wellYou do not need to go through the whole wardrobe. Three or four favourites whose size and fit you are happy with is enough.
- Photograph the labelsSave the photo on the Specsy card. The original size, fabric and everything else stays to hand, even if something is forgotten or written down imprecisely.
- Add what did not workA bad experience is useful too. Write down the brands, sizes and cuts that do not suit you, so the same mistake is not repeated on the next purchase.
Questions people ask
Can I keep both centimetres and inches?
Yes. A card field is free text, so you can write "98 cm / 38.5 in" and see both when you are on a US site.
Does it work for someone else, like a partner?
Yes. Each person gets their own card, and on a shared plan the whole family sees them.
What if my size changes?
Edit the card. Specsy is meant to be updated, not filled in once and abandoned. Most people revisit it once or twice a year.
