Sizes
Give clothes without asking for a size
Save the sizes of the people close to you in advance — clothes, shoes and the measurements that matter. Then no suspicious questions are needed before the occasion, and the present is not given away early.
With Specsy you can settle on the right size quietly and well in advance, and the surprise survives to the end.

The question that spoils the present
Clothes as a gift are usually bought one of two ways: ask for the size and give the surprise away early, or guess and attach a gift receipt.
But the information can be gathered long before the occasion: the size on a label, the favourite brand, the cut that sits well, the colour they actually wear, and the things that never suit them.
In Specsy all of it goes on a separate private card. When it is time to choose the present, the notes are already to hand — and the surprise stays a surprise.
What is worth noting for gifts
- Sizes for the things people most often get as presents — jumpers, shirts, shoes
- Favourite colours and materials — and the ones they definitely never wear
- What they already own — so a similar thing is not bought twice by accident
- Ring size and wrist measurement — if jewellery is on the table
- Photos of labels from things that fit — taken in advance, with no questions asked
Keep the gift card private
In Specsy only what you choose to share becomes shared. The card with ideas, sizes and hints for presents can stay private — invisible even to someone in your own family group.
For presents that matters most of all: ideas can be collected calmly and in advance, without any risk of spoiling the surprise.
Where to get the information without asking directly
- Look at the labels of things they already wear — coats, shirts, trousers
- Check the size of their favourite shoes — the brand and size are usually on the tongue or inside
- Notice remarks about the fit — "sleeves are long", "tight across the shoulders", "that brand runs small"
- Ask someone close to them — a partner, a parent, anyone who knows the sizes
- Save the details of presents that worked — if it fitted, the size is already proven
Questions people ask
Can I keep a card the family group cannot see?
Yes. Cards are private by default and shared only when you add them to a shared space.
Can I store gift ideas as well as sizes?
Yes. The same card for that person has notes and photos: save a shot of the thing in the shop window, a link to the product, or a line like "likes ceramics, no perfume". Sizes and ideas sit together.
Is there a way to note what I already bought them?
Add a line to the card each year. It turns into a short history and stops repeat presents.
